While spirit is essential, the reality is that dragon boating is a technical, synchronised sport where **teamwork, timing and technique decide the winners**. That’s why more corporate teams are investing in **specialist training sessions before their big race**. Unlike one-off team building activities like escape rooms or adventure days, **dragon boating combines fun with real competition**. The thrill of racing means preparation matters and training together turns a good team into a winning one. ### Benefits of Pre-Race Training - **Teamwork and Synchronisation**: Learning to paddle in rhythm ensures maximum boat speed. - **Leadership Development**: Crews discover natural leaders who set pace, motivate, and steer team focus. - **Fitness and Endurance**: Training builds stamina so teams don’t fade halfway through a race. - **Breaking Barriers**: Working side by side on the water builds trust and levels workplace hierarchies. - **Competitive Edge**: While other teams are figuring it out on race day, trained teams are already race-ready. ### Where DBX Trains Corporate Teams in London DBX runs pre-race corporate training sessions at **Canary Wharf, Docklands, and Paddington Basin**. Each location offers easy access from central London offices, professional coaching, and a safe environment for high quality training. ### Case Study: Proteus – From Office Team to Champions One of our proudest success stories is **Proteus**, a corporate team who wanted more than just to participate — they wanted to **win**. They approached DBX for structured training in the weeks leading up to their dragon boat racing event. - **Initial sessions**: Focused on rhythm, paddling technique, and balance in the boat. - **Midway training**: Introduced race starts, sprints, and endurance drills. - **Final prep**: Practised full race simulations to fine-tune teamwork and mental focus The results? On race day, **Proteus didn’t just compete — they dominated.** They came **first in every single race** and went on to **win the entire event**. Their success proves that with the right preparation, any corporate team can go from enthusiastic beginners to race-winning champions. ### Ready to Train Your Team to Victory?
